Roses
My love
My lung
My Light
I was a rose, blooming and bright
I flourished when your light was in sight
The color red is rushed to form blush
From the sweetly spoken words turning me into mush
I extended my arms to you when you were near
You were my lifeline, my dear
My lock
My lie
My loss
The color of red from the heart you broke
Shattered to fragments of silk and impaled with the thorns you spoke
I shriveled and dried
Your light was not in sight for the petals that died
The petals of my love, my lung, my light
You allowed death to ignite
