Still dying

We were something special,
I could tell.
We were meant to be together,
So why did he leave?
Why did he leave when he said he loved me?
Why did he crush my heart the way he did?
Why didn’t he answer all the questions
I had asked?
He told me,
After he left,
That we were still close,
And he still loved me.
So if the words he spoke were true,
Why do I still feel like I’m dying?
