Muddled
It’s a circus out there they say,
But what I really think is;
The circus’s up in my brain!
Little did I know,
When I’d turn thirteen,
I’d miss my pre-teen!
Because now that
I’m a teen,
they Ask me-
why you so mean?
But, I’m not a meanie,
Just a little beanie;
A little space is all I ask for,
But to my parents it seems I asked for a bag of gold!
“Your eyes are glued to the screen,
And when asked to study you scream!”
Is what they say,
But little do they know,
Those hormones go crazy every day!
Earphones plugged in,
With that one song on and repeat;
It feels like music is what heals!
Don’t know if I’m that one girl, obsessed with her nails
Because one day I do, and on the other ones, I don't care!
Oh, and how I want to excel at school
Yet, be good at sports too,
But when comes to both;
All I do is sob in my room!
Backbencher, teacher’s pet,
Or whatever you call them,
Those aliens of thirteen,
Who you think all do is mock;
But I'm pretty sure, can’t even find that smelly sock!
“Sit properly, you’re a big girl”
They say one day,
“Stop playing with your hair, you’re just a little girl!”
They say the next day!
They call me indecisive,
But aren’t they themselves a little too?
Nevertheless, I know it’s for the good;
It’s just a phase, A little jolly and a little crazy,
A rollercoaster I’d say!
One of life’s best,
But what a teen needs right now,
Is a little bit of rest!
