Loved But Lost
The colors in the sky that remind us of them
The not knowing what it will be like when we see them again
The stories and the laughter we shared as they were here
They always said not to worry when they left
They were just driving to their destination
Where ever that may be
As the family all gathers around
Wondering why it happened
Why death is even something that happens
The time of regret
The time of sadness
If only that dang seatbelt was on
Or if you just needed to have that one more beer
Did you really was the question
But its not the question now
We all have to remember what it was like to go through that horrible sadness
When I see that truck it reminds me of you
Maybe if we kept you home we could have saved you
Friends remember everything
As you are right next to them in that truck or right next to them at the bonfire
The party will never be the same again
The calmness and how boring it was before you got there
The how you loved sunsets
How that truck you said would look pretty darn good in front of them
You would just have to stop on the road just to take that picture you might never get the chance to again
But now you are the sunset
Everyone looks up and it reminds them of you
They think of you, You looking down on us
But if you were here you would be telling us
That we should not be missing you by standing there
Instead to go out and hunt, miss me way up in that deer stand
That time is to precious and it aint going to wait
Take every moment in and be grateful for everything
