Getting Up
Why should I get up?
“You're going to be late to school,” Mom yells.
“You have practice today,” says Dad.
“Let’s go play fetch,” the dog barks.
Why should I get up?
“You need to start giving class more effort,” my physics teacher tells me.
“I know that you're better than this,” Coach says after practice.
“Make some better plays,” my teammates say.
Why should I get up?
Today you put in more effort.
Today you give it everything.
Today you start the rest of your life.
Alright, I’m up.
