The Girl Who Ran Away
The girl who abandoned her home,
ran away, trying to escape.
The girl who was abused at her home,
ran away, trying to be set free.
The girl misses her home,
wishing everything was how it used to be.
Before her dad became an alcoholic and abusive father.
Before all the nightly arguments.
The girl misses her family bonds
before her brother got in a fatal car crash,
before her parents divorced.
The bond fell apart.
The girl gazes at the house
remembering all the old fun memories.
The girl lies on the grass,
thinking of when she used to laugh while running through the fields with her dad.
Times are different now,
there are no more fun memories to be made,
just arguments and abusive actions.
The only thing the girl could do was abandon her home.
