What if
I think of what I will have for dinner
I think of what I will watch on my phone
I think of the clothes I will wear to school
Just as I think of you
My mind is consumed by What Ifs
and If What’s
What if I got a different drink
What if I wore a different shirt
What if I never let you back in my life
If I took a different class, what would my day be like
If I would have worked harder, what more could I have accomplished
If I didn't let you know I cared, what would you do to keep me
Some things are so simple we rule them out subconsciously
Food
Clothes
Classes
Money
But some things are so complex we categorize them into a million questions
I can always wake up tomorrow and wear something different
Listen to a different song
Drink a different drink
Take a different road to school
Park in a different spot
Sit in a different seat
If only this was that easy
If only I could wake up tomorrow and love somebody else
But life has chosen you
The worst possible candidate
And now I'm stuck thinking
Of What Ifs and If What’s
