The Coat Rack
For my Father
Behind the sliding door is a coat rack
Guayabera after knickerbocker, onto heavy steel bar
The hung cravat
It’s all weight
My son glancing through the mirror
The hung cravat
Guayabera after knickerbocker, onto heavy steel bar
Behind the sliding door is a coat rack

This poem is for my Father, and for all the other parents out there. They do so much work behind the scenes, behind that mirror. I wanted to acknowledge that, and show through poetry that I observe that, and I appreciate it. They have to deal with so much stress, and anxiety, yet they act if they are just as solid as a steel bar.
Thank you Dad.
