Cracked voice and dried leaves
In wooden boxes---
Color in the water, spiraling
Down
Down
Down;
Red
Red
Red
Water color.
Pinecone fingers
And calcite tongue
First kiss on the beach
Soft and warm
Like the cat
That watches the cracked voice sing
To red water.
