Dream Racing Thro

Right before the dawn
I slithered out of my bed
I slipped by the door
And fell to the floor
My dream racing through my head
     I stumbled across the house
And as I hurriedly sped
I crashed in the hall
Hit against the wall
And my dream fell out of my head
     I searched the whole room
Giving no care of obstacles ahead
So I tripped, I'm afraid
And by light of breaking dry
Saw lying helpless, the dream from my head
     I got down on my hands and knees.
Next to my kitten's bed
I opened my mouth
but no words came out
For I found that my dream was dead
