The Hourglass
Time--- represented by 31,536,000 grains of sand.
Each equal to the value of a second.
I did the math--- that's an entire year.
Each new year the hourglass is flipped,
restarting the cycle of gliding sand.
A tiny crack in the hourglass
lets a few precious grains escape.
Unnoticeable at the moment, but years
down the road
I might check and find that I have
lost time.
Left with only 86,400 grains left.
