Paper Airplane
Don’t tell me you’re done.
Because if anyone is, I should be the one.
I regret this so much, you put me through hell.
I should’ve known from the first time I saw you, I wish I would’ve been able to tell.
To tell that you were a waste of my time,
There are a dozen girls like you; I should’ve spent that dime.
Now I know you all too well,
If only I could’ve seen it earlier, then I wouldn’t have fell.
But oh how you made me fall so hard,
I was chasing a royal flush and you were my winning river card.
They say to play the cards you’re dealt,
And you were my hand, or so I felt.
You proved to be a bust,
Now you’re watching me drive away and make my dust.
I’m never coming back to this place,
I’m watching you in my rear view mirror wiping the tears from your face.
I’m sure you’re face would be drier if I would’ve stayed,
But all I left you with were memories and even those are soon to fade.
So this is the last time you will read my words,
You probably won’t even cherish them; so just make an airplane and throw this up with the birds.
