Sitting

You sit in class
Watching your friends leave for track
Watching them become standouts.
You could be too,
But you have your doubts
“I may not have time to sit”
You think from your couch.
When you have a job
And it becomes a career
You could advance
In naught but a year
But that would take effort
“I want to have a life, after all”
You think from your chair.
So you sit and watch it pass
And say it’s unfair.
After awhile you’re at home
Sitting on your bed
With very little hair
Left on your head.
And at about that time
You begin to wish,
You had found something to stand for.

This will certify that the above work is completely original

It's never to late, if it weren't for the last minute many things would never get done!

This is a great poem. I totally agree with the meaning, and anyone who reads it will probably get a lot from it. It is also really well written. Nice poem!
