Live On
Why must our loves end in heartache?
Why must our lives end in death?
Why must things change for the worse, not the better,
So quickly you can’t catch your breath?
What holds us up when we fall down?
What comforts us when we mourn?
What keeps us convinced that things will recover,
Though we are tired and torn?
When we are feeling so alone,
When we feel like we shall die,
When we think things could never get better,
And that everything is a lie
There in the darkness is light
Held by those so near and dear
They will pick us up in the end
So truly, there’s nothing to fear.
There’s no way to stop all the changes
There’s no way to stop all the pain
But with help from the loved ones around us
We find reason to live once again.
