Me
Do you know who I am?
I am wild, powerful, and loud.
I am the flash of lightning and crackle of thunder.
I am the wind through the trees,
The waves of the ocean.
I am the leaves crunching
Underneath your feet.
Do you know who I am?
I am music that is not yet written,
A story that is not told.
I am a canvas that has not been painted,
A picture that has not been taken.
Do you know who I am?
I am an idea not thought,
A saying not said.
I compose that which
Can’t be seen.
I am an illusion,
The clouds in the sky.
Do you know who I am?
I am velvety rose petals, and
Precious butterfly kisses.
I am spontaneous laughter,
A fountain of tears.
I am ripe raspberries,
Fresh cut grass.
Do you know who I am?
I am warm summer evenings,
The stars in the sky.
I am alternative music,
A rare breed.
I am a sanctuary,
A confidant to all.
Do you know who I am?
To you I may be short,
But I always stand tall.
To you I may be weak, but
Yet I am strong.
To you I’m just another face,
But you’re wrong!
It’s my face.
The face of an individual
Waiting to expose herself to the world.
This is who I am!
