The American Dream
The Golden Door was there for me,
With freedom and justice and liberty.
The American Dream so well perceived,
Is what my family sought to achieve,
And what we were taught to believe.
And now the reason that we can’t see,
Is because of that worn out American Dream.
What everyone thought was truth,
And all instilled their hope to believe,
Was really that tattered American Dream,
So simply misconceived.
