Pen to paper
thoughts are written
ink dances
forming words
down this page
promises and forgotten
dreams
carry me
my heart speaks through the pen
to form this poem
and I wait
for the pendulum to swing
and swing back
causing time to change
the stars fill my window with light
as the day turns into night
and I sit here in thought
and write this poem
because it's my heart screaming out loud
with this
pen to paper
and nothing else--
