Tap and Pat on the window pane.
The incessant rapping again and again.
Tap and Pat the passive bothers.
Vexing when viewed and consisting of others.
Tap and Pat like drops on the sill.
Like white noise over the air.
Not sharp, not shrill.
An unending ringing.
Shut out by the status quo.
Suffered by those who've broken conditioning.
Covered ears will not suffice,
A resonance muted by no device.
Tap and Pat, Chitter Chatter.
It's on the roof,
Nothing more than Pitter Patter.
