"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid. "- Jane Austen

Falling into the night sky
I'm reaching for your hand
But gravity holds me
So strong, I can barely stand
Help me, the both of us ask
You the different, I the damned
We the falling
Into Time's sand
Nighttime is a cruel setting
For stars watch on unpityingly, and amused
As you break, and I shatter
Falling into separate abysses, bruised and battered
I've died before
I fear it not another time
But those times, the dark was not so merciless
And I was all alone in my mind
But you, oh you fall to pieces with me
I've reason to fight
But how to do it?
I need your strength tonight
Always scarred, always shadowed
I can't help both of us
Just take my hand
Just trust
In darkness, I'll be fine
But you, day child, will falter
Worry not about me anymore
For I know I'm stronger
Live in the light again
As an anchor to bring me back
Light my way home
And I'll pull you out of the black
I might come back, I know I'll try
To rejoin the world from which I fall again
So until I do, take your scars and keep them close
As a memento of me, your fallen friend

This was inspired by the song Give Me a Sign by Breaking Benjamin.
