Ever Present
Night falls
Candles burn
Dreams come
Earth turns
Morning shows her rosy face
Rising through the sky, again
Thoughts come and go
Then the day ends
Over and over
The cycle spins
One day closes
Another begins
The sun will shine
The moon will glow
Though hot be summer
And cold, be winter snow
Clouds may cover their faces
Or rain might dampen their light
But nothing else in life is as predictable
As the cycle of day and night
Humans are ever fluctuating
Their wants and whims wax and wane
Who they are now and who they were then
Never are the same
Weather ever changes
Be it rainy, windy, or shine
And even mountains become valleys
Given the passing of time
But as everything else happens
Night and day remain
People may stumble, and empires may crumble
But moon and sun don't fade
