The perfect family
The perfect family would consist
of them without me.
A normal brother and a sister
without the burden of me to see
Their coats white against my black
Like the shadows in which I hide,
My loneliness in this crowded house too much
to resist this incoming tide.
I see their lives laid out
like a scripted show,
Her popularity so unlike mine
My baggage she has to tow.
My brother's embarrassed face
As i answer the door.
Why don't I just crawl
And make become friends with the floor
The perfect family would consist
of them without me.
but for now I'll just watch in silence
from this lonely tree.
