Aquamarine
Lazy summers in California,
So silent, yet so bright and brimming with energy,
West coast waves crashing onto sandy beaches,
Girls walking by the ocean,
Wearing Hollister T-Shirts and jeans,
Girls sitting at home,
Laying on their fluffy white beds,
Talking on cell phones,
And looking at the ocean view from their window,
On the seventh floor of an apartment building,
Listening to soft pink seashells,
Closing your eyes and hearing the afternoon waves,
Crash down on the smooth sand,
It smells like salty water,
It’s a whisper, calling you to the waters edge,
“Step into my ocean, feel the waves of my sea roll over your ankles, let the coolness of my water calm you and welcome you, let yourself leap into me, and smile at the sun and clouds above you.”
The taste of cool water trickling down your throat,
Refreshing your mind, relaxing your body,
A liquid sky with clouds of foaming bubbles,
A sun of sand, a moon of sparkling depth,
And stars of seashells…
When I look up at the sky, I see the ocean,
I feel a vast aquamarine sea above me,
I taste the salt, hear the seagulls,
I dream of lazy summers in California.
