caved in
Hot black rock shields the sun from the cold interior
Put aside for the mysterious ocean to beat on
Moist secrets lay in the darkness
Sand blows in from each direction
Echoes from the outer world shadow through gap in the rocks
The tide rolls up every day filling in the empty space
Crabs and sea creatures find home in this place
The night’s moon light rays reflect off of the jagged wall
So strong and stern it stands still
Its ugly shape, color and form protects the inside from the returning storm
Stuck in a place it was made into
Watching the fish swim, the birds fly, the ships sail into the beautiful night
Locked away from that free life
The only purpose of this rock
Is for things to rest on, and treasures to hide
