More Than Meets the Eye
Eyes will be sore
When watching carefully,
Just to see that they’re safe.
Hearts will love painfully
When they are abused
And when they are crushed,
They feel more than received
They need to be gently touched.
Hands move with grace
Making things for loved ones
Things that are beautiful
For daughters and for sons.
Ears listen intently
When someone needs to talk,
They can provide a haven
During a heartfelt walk.
Mouths smile lovingly
When someone’s hurt or displeased,
A grin can brighten one’s day
And so the gladness is released.
