I sit in front of the warm, sizzling fire
For him to be back is all I desire
Stiff and cold he is now dead
And now he lays in his forever bed.

Even though his heart was cold
To women it was easily sold
I bought the bitter man’s soul
While the cancer took its toll.

Now that his time is up
I realize that our short-lived fairytale wasn’t enough
My heart still aches for his love
While he rests far above.

As the shadows dance across the wall
The memories flood down the hall
Tears stream from my eyes
And from my mouth escapes a cry.

The pain is too much to bear
For it gives myself quite a scare
I hug my knees close to my chest
And try to get some rest.

But I can’t because I miss him too much
I want to be within his clutch
I know my love is gone forever
But one day in heaven we will eventually be together.

Thank you for being honest! I know what you meant by the lengths and now that I'm aware of that, I'll keep that in mind while I'm writing, so thank you! I'm also glad that you like it, it really means a lot to me :)

The leanth of lines was kinda awkward, i think. It mad it flow a little weirdly. But I like it. I like how it is about a wife grieving for her husband, or at least a person grieving for the loss of their other. It is very good with imagry and it is very good at drawing the reader in to share the speaker's grief for a moment or two. Great work!

Well, I think I do have to worry about you feelings because Even though I do not know you in person, it would still kill me to know I hurt your feelings. It is just the way I am.

Well thank you soooo much!!!  It means the world to me when people think that!  I mean, my friends tell me I'm a good author, but they could just be saying that to be nice.  You don't really have to worry about my feelings.  So thank you!
