Although I know it’s inevitable
Although I know it’s inevitable,
I cannot help but to be terrified.
Thinking about it makes me unstable.
All my lingering thoughts are verified.
When the day comes, I hope I’ll be prepared
For I don’t know what lies ahead of me.
What happens to people for whom I cared?
I question whether I will ever be free.
Will I see the family I lost again?
Thinking about this, my thoughts go askew.
I hope you will think of me now and then.
I know that I will think of and miss you.
And death approaches every frightened soul
It leaves me feeling ultimately whole.
