A luster
A luster,
a shine,
a curving light
in the sand.
A bottle!
Made of glass.
That shines
like a sun,
full of bliss.
What
can be
contained,
in such
a small place?
A swig
of water,
a note,
for someone
across
seven seas?
Or a firefly?
A shooting star
in a closed universe.
Hold it
up
to the light!
What do you see?
A light,
a color!
No 2, no 3!
Oh my,
a rainbow,
contained
in a tiny,
shining world.
Put it to
your ear!
What do you hear?
The ocean?
Like a couch?
A waterfall?
A whisper?
What does it say?
Hello?
Goodbye?
to me,
a looking glass.
I look
through the end,
to see,
me.
