Let Me Love
How do you lie, and how do you pretend?
Does your relentless show never end?
Do you ever stop smiling, do you ever just stop?
Can you stop being perfect, can your charade just drop?
Does your hair ever budge in its hairspray cage?
Does your make-up smudge when you cry with rage?
Do your legs crack and dry when the air becomes cold?
Do you drip drops of sweat when the sun becomes bold?
Do you let people in to see the real you?
Do they see past your grins and your sweet baby coos?
Do they see the tears that pour down your face?
Or the way you tremble and quicken you pace?
Do they know who it is that sobs and cries
In the bathrooms at school, drowning in lies?
Will you let me help you, will you let me in?
Can I make you better, so we can both win?
Will you let me love you with all of my heart,
Or will you drown in your terrible, miserable art?
