Layers
Make-up!
It covers your face.
Lace!
Ties your hair nice and straight.
Curls!
It's all your hair ever dares.
So,
Come on,
Step in,
Once through the doors
It will begin.
Class one - biology,
Break two - gossip hard to chew.
Class three - chemistry,
Break four - response and flaunts,
One more and you're out the door,
Moving on and moving thin,
Lies and rumors to purge and binge -
Through how man curls,
And how many lies,
Do I have to dig through before I find you,
Or does all hope die?
So rip off your make-up,
Rip off your masks,
And shoot off the question your life really asks!
Maybe then -
You'll know.
Maybe then -
You'll find,
And until then,
Just leave it all behind.
