The Raven and the Dove
Decades of innocent lives wasted,
Cries of pain silenced; condemned.
Bound by masked chains,
Without a mind to speak
They remain hopeful that one day someone will free them
From the evil bondage and suffering
Instilled in every ounce of their distressed bodies.
The worn strand will snap loose,
The black beads will scatter to far away places seeking coverage,
Meek accommodation.
The velvet lined chest of freedom
Will release the eager dove from its holding chamber,
And it will soar.
Throw down your shovels, rakes and hoes.
Join us in celebration because you are newly freed.
Wipe away the distorted thoughts of unfair rulings,
Decisions and power.
Rejoice in this memorable moment of merriment.
You are your own.
The worn strand has snapped loose,
The black beads have scattered to the far away places
Seeking coverage, meek accommodation.
The velvet lined chest of freedom has released the eager dove
From its holding chamber
And it has soared.
