In the Final Moments of Light
In the final moments of light
His eyes stare into the black abyss of her soul
He wonders what secrets she keeps there
Her lips give way to nothing
Her fingers search for something grasp
But what’s there but flesh and the secrets his eyes keep
Deep pools of blue drowning her of all speech and comprehension
His lips move but she is beyond hearing
Again she reaches just barely touching
She grasps
It burns
Her lips part a scream
His eyes clench shut
She touches his face
Her fingers grazing the charred flesh, his entangled in her hair above their faces
Both left to the secrets their eyes keep
In the final moments of light
