Completely Gone
Do you hear that melody?
Do you see it flying free?
On broken wings
With other things,
It's lost but not completely gone.
Can you feel the bitter taste?
Do you see what's gone to waste?
Burned to ashes long ago
Is something that you'll never know.
It's lost but not completely gone.
Smell the bitter sweet remedy,
And take the time to walk with me.
These things you never did.
Of your betrayal, I'll never be rid.
It's lost but not completely gone.
How long I've waited.
And this thirst has yet to be sated.
So I shall wait ever longer.
And maybe I'll grow a little stonger.
But I already know you're lost, but not completely gone.
These things I long for still.
So I'll listen to the silent trill
Of bitter loss and quiet hate.
And know that you'll be ever late.
You're lost to me, but not completely gone.
