I Love You
I thought I knew the meaning
Cuz what he said was not true
I was stupid enough to believe him
When he said the words, “I love you.”
I dreamed of him every night
And to think that I actually knew
The meaning of the three small words
The three words, “I love you.”
One day he said it wasn’t right
It’s time apart we grew
I felt my heart go tearing apart
He then stopped saying, “I love you.”
He moved on to another girl
And I stayed behind and drew
A heart with our names carved inside
Cuz I longed the words, “I love you.”
But then you came into my life
And at first I never knew
That you would bring the sunshine back
Into the words, “I love you.”
First you were just a normal guy
But then you became a new
Kind of person that I adored
Waiting for the words, “I love you.”
We both know we are meant to be
So let’s say what is true
Let’s confess our love to each other
Let’s say the words, “I love you.”
