Precisely
A small scrap of paper I keep to this day,
ten digits all crafted in a precise way.
But why would I keep it after all we've been through?
Because it reminds me of the time I truly loved you.
Of the days that we talked and nothing was wrong,
of the days that we talked before she came along.
And the moments we laughed without a care in the universe,
the fights we had that never got worse.
And why do I keep it most of all?
Because it reminds me of a time where nothing could fall.
It gives me hope that I can go,
get ready to take a bow, it is your final show.
And as the lights dim and we come to an end,
I know that someday I will write the message I've been waiting to send.
