Out of the dark…
The feeling of grief in me is colossal
But life seems to have a new proposal
I feel like an alien stuck up on Earth
I sigh as I walk to my berth
I smile as the year passes from Feb to May
The wait is worth it all, you say
Passing all the dark and damp stations
Until I finally reach my destination
Everything in my head is topsy-turvy
I toss behind my hair-clumsy and curly
Occasionally flipping the pages of my book
Or being mesmerized by nature’s beautiful look
“I’m getting close,” I say and sigh
Skillfully wiping the tear in my eye
Just tell me once, and I won’t ask again
Why was life such a difficult bargain?
I gasp with the increase in my journey’s speed
Looking outside at the animals and their feed
Think of nothing for a little while
And then, sit back, enjoy and smile.
