Shadow Girl
She rides her bike
As I ride mine
Same steady pace
Exact same time
I pedal through the city
She follows close behind
She’s a comfort to me
That shadow girl of mine
Doesn’t utter a word
Doesn’t scold or chide
Just follows and listens
Just stays by my side
When day turns to night
And the sky becomes dark
Shadow girl will slowly
But surely depart
Shadow Girl:
The only friend I’ve ever known
Has left me here standing
With my bike
All alone
But she’ll come back tomorrow
That much has been shown
So I’ll hop back on
Time to pedal back home
