The Mountain
The pure white
coats of the sheep.
The vibrant color
of the green field.
The bright orange sun reflecting
off the lone mountain peak.
All the colors are gone.
The dark black clouds roll in
moments from bursting
into a waterfall of cool rain.
Another night of water rushing
down the mountain side.
The sheep now wet,
try to find what little shelter they can.
The green field now brown
as mud and water poor off the mountain.
And now only sporadic flashes of lightning
flash off the mountain top.
