The not so long and windy road
I asked him what would happen if I died.
He said he would be right there
to join me for the ride,
but the thought gave him quite a scare.
I asked him if he believed in heaven.
He said he did not think so.
"So what do you have faith in?"
He said he did not know.
Such beautiful eyes.
Filled with such emptiness.
Always willing to compromise.
A moment of euphoria for a lifetime of happiness.
He asked me what would happen if he died.
I responded, "You already are
I'm here for the ride."
and got in the car.
