I Wish

I wish upon a wishing star,
hoping and praying
for my dream to survive.
I toss pennies in a well
trying to make it come true.
Blowing out the birthday candles
on a cake
are just some things
I have to make.
After all of this is done,
maybe they will all come true
or perhaps just one.
