Today she begged for heaven
to catch her when we die
so she could live her second life
if God will let her try
Today she asked for sleep
so she could dream again
to fall into a second life
when stars declare day's end
Today she asked for anything
to end the hell she's in
be it sleep or death
or a first love's breath
she needed life to begin
The tragic light
behind this fright
is sadly seldom seen
You don't need death for heaven, love
you dont need sleep to dream.
