Cats and Dogs

The cat's in the kennel. The dog's in the house.
Their instincts can't even get them out.
Meowing and barking, clawing and moaning,
They're feeling the pressure of the shroud.
Wrapping and climbing up their legs,
the sickness of begging to be fed.
Dying to live and living to die,
crossing the road under a tread.
Being born they have no choice,
but to follow the trail as far as it leads.
Sniffing and sensing a choice must be made,
their instinctual thoughts guide the way.
Cats and dogs know how to get fed,
They even know they must lie in their bed
