Broken Promises
Broken promises and lies,
Tears falling from her eyes.
He says one thing but he does another
He makes her feel like she's a burden on his shoulders.
He sits down at the piano as he writes her a song
His way of saying, "I'm sorry, I was wrong."
But she no longer wants to hear his apology,
"How many times have I tossed and turned without a wink of sleep?
How many nights did you fill my head with a fairy tale fantasy...
Of what was supposed to be just you and me?
So where did the other girls come into play?
Give me a reason why I should stay?"
With that last word, she walked out the door
And she promised herself, she won't run back anymore.
