Without Him
The tears fall
As we wait
For some
Light to be shed
Upon this tragedy
Santa comes softly
As we all lay awake
Our souls so lonely
Everyday is a struggle
Why don’t you notice us?
We’re still here
But you just look away
The water, so smooth,
So calm
Causes so much pain
The rain sings a soft lullaby
to the lost ones
Darkness falls,
we face the nightmares
just beyond our eyes
Seconds count down to zero,
a new year begins.
We take another step
and prepare for a year
without him.
