Love's Kiss
Joyful gad,
A pristine young lad,
In dismay and in bliss,
Had traveled hard,
Long and afar,
In search of true love’s kiss.
He became tired—
That lad so wired—
And his heart fell from bliss
Because he went
With his life spent
But could not find that kiss.
And, as his will
Withering still,
He saw Lady of Bliss—
“Lady,” he said,
As she turned her head,
“Where is that perfect kiss?”
“Past the Winding Hills
Of your Hate,
Over the wide Lake of Bliss,
Look, very close,”
Her voice then rose, --
“If you need true love’s first kiss!”
