Musical Poetry
A c note is played on the baby grand piano
Lyrics begin to pour out
Slowly taking over my body
First traveling down my throat
My ears ring as my voice echoes
It moves down past my heart
Making it thump to the beat of the drums
My hips begin to sway
As my hands clap together
And my feet stomp on the concrete floor
I am completely enthralled
Delighted by the musical poetry
The final note is played
My feet stop abruptly
And my hips slow until they are still
My throat is dry, no longer filled with lyrics
My hands still clap together
Not to a beat but to applause
