A Second Patiently
A patient second
is a dream, with only the speed of a shutter
fast enough to linger a second into patience.
For the laments of the single pixel
who knows he's too small
for those impatient seconds
can illuminate proudly his own
fraction of a millimeter,
for that's all he has to call home.
And he smiles
when those giants of people hovering over him
hesitate before moving on,
sweeping their eyes just once more over the photograph,
squinting their eyelids into focus, and leaving all behind for a second,
a second patiently.
