Saline At Sea
Sun rises.
Saline's falling.
The salty drops continue to darken
The rays cast upon the dock,
Despite their ultraviolet intensity.
Suddenly, it is hard to decipher
What is simply sweat
And what is tears.
The sun just taunts, unceasingly,
Causing her whole body to weep.
Not an inch of skin is dry,
But her face flooded
Even before the sun rose.
Only one word crosses her mind:
Why.
Why everyone basks in sunshine
While she drowns in the rain.
