The Sea Of Grass
There is a sea of grass
A city never to be seen
In the valley of broken dreams
The walk of the forgotten
The shame of the knowing
With the guilt that follows us all
Beyond the sea of grass
The mountains grow
And no one knows
Of the dangers
Lurking the ground we walk
No one knows of the mistakes
We wish we never made
No one knows of the horrors
We can never let fade
Within the sea of grass
There lies somewhere secrets hidden
Behind the walls of the forbidden
The betrayal of us all
You stand there and watch us
Your head down low
As your tears begin to grow
In the sea of grass
A wind blows by
As you begin to cry
Before you there stands
An old gold gate
You stand there waiting
For an opening, a welcoming
Though all you receive are your fears
Inside the sea of grass
We stare at you
We whisper about you
But we don’t know you
So the gate will never open
And maybe sometime you’ll find
You’ve always been bound
And maybe one day
You might have a chance
To be found
