Time and Twilight
Time has rushed past,
Entwined with
Twilight
As two lover
Who know
They must
Part.
Memories
Are but
The succulent fruit
Of succulent
Minds.
Yet the season
Of harvest
Has come,
And I find
I don’t want
To climb
The ladder
To the top.
My hands might
Reach hesitantly
For the fruit,
But I thought I had
Finally let go
Of the rot.
Yesterday
Came back
To haunt me
With the troubles
Of tomorrow.
I wish I forgot.
