fragments
Broken windows and trust are brothers
Connected to the same link but all the more diverse
Both begin intact with the chance of disperse
When a window shatters the fragments are soon swept
When trust breaks the fragments abide
Contrasting the two as well as keeping them alongside
Neither wishing for calamity
Neither to take fault
Outside forces coldly continue to assault
Pinky promises and broken glass
Two fingers hooked together while the promise between them smothers
If one hook is unfaithful, two new converse
Failing to remember the original words, nothing but a blank verse
The game of telephone is a violent one, calls should not accept
Words now twisted like the pinky’s once allied
Spoken and rumored, no harm was implied
The little bird you heard it from had a slight deformity
Still it sings to others continuing without halt
Just to come face to face with another vault
Trust broke the window with fragments that forever last
